BUS 61

Values-Based Life and Wealth Planning

(BUS 61)

If you have always wanted to take control of your financial life but have been intimidated by the complexity of the task, then this course is designed for you. In this hands-on course, we will concentrate on identifying and integrating financial objectives within a framework of broader personal goals and values. Whether you are accumulating for retirement, dealing with sudden affluence, or safeguarding your nest egg, money involves both the brain and the heart. The latest behavioral finance insights will help explain why people make financial mistakes, and what we can do to avoid these errors. We will examine spending patterns, debt and asset management, insurance, renting versus buying a home, estate planning, and intergenerational as well as charitable giving. By the end of this course, you will design a personal plan that acts as a flexible framework to support current and future financial decisions.
