Have you stalled out on your writing? Or perhaps everything you have written feels like a retelling of the same story. Maybe you are tired of your literary voice. How do you find the kind of creative energy that will take your writing into undiscovered territories? The instructor will set up a series of in-class writing exercises, all focused on bringing your writing to a new place. A stronger voice? Braver characters? More exciting drama? It may be time to break the rules in your writing. We will grapple with structure, character, style, plot. We will blast through the boundaries of how we usually do things and explore new paths. You won’t bring any writing to class—we will start with a blank slate and take it from there. You will end the workshop with a good deal of new material, ready to make the writing year ahead productive, creative, and rule-bending.
