Wealth management is much more than just investing your assets. It encompasses all parts of our financial life, focusing on current and future needs. Whether you accomplish this on your own, with the assistance of professionals, or by using a combination of the two, it is important to possess the confidence and basic knowledge to navigate through this complex maze.

Since the start of the 21st century, we have witnessed the tech bubble (2000), the financial crisis (2007), and most recently, the pandemic (2020). When markets are moving up, there understandably can be less emphasis on planning. However, as we know, markets do not always go up. It’s not uncommon for less-experienced investors to question their overall wealth plan during these downturns. This introductory course is tailored for those who want a clearer understanding of how their personal finances work and might be feeling confused or overwhelmed about where to begin. We will address the core wealth management concepts: goal setting, customizing a simple investment policy statement, basic cash flow modeling, risk assessment, liability management, the pulls of behavioral finance on decision-making, alternative investments, equity and fixed income analysis, benchmarking, employee benefits, basic option strategies, and retirement planning. This course can be useful for anyone interested in gaining an elementary foundation in wealth management that will help guide your financial future.
